Snap Out of It

March 7, 2018

It’s only Wednesday?! It seems I’ve lived three days this week that feel like thirty. However, as my mom poignantly reminded me, we are all healthy and doing fine, whereas so many are not as fortunate. In a nutshell, she was too kind to just say, “Em, snap out of your pity-party and be thankful.”

So, tonight I’m done with my petty concerns and remembering those who need my energy wrapped-up in prayer instead: a small baby with a heart condition, an old friend with a brain tumor, a young mom fighting her second battle with cancer, a friend who is a widow, friends who have recently lost a parent or sibling, Nebraskans whose homes burnt down yesterday, another friend with cancer, friends who have lost children, a friend who travelled from Canada to America for cancer treatment, my brother’s mother-in-law, my mother-in-law, a friend who has been stuck at home with illness too long, all of us parents doing the best we can… so many who need prayers for healing, comfort, and strength.

This list is, sadly, too long and I know it’s certainly not complete, but if it’s anything, like the picture I included, it’s a reminder that there is always, always something to be thankful for.
